Nala -Needs, life changing Cruciate ligament knee surgery
Donation protected
- Nala is in need of life changing cruciate ligament surgery on both her back legs.
- Nala moved house with her owner, Julie in February this year. She loves her new home and exploring the new walks in the woods and by the river. New friends to meet and different environments ahead. She loves nothing more than a swim in the cold water
- Nala is 3 1/2 years old and enjoys the odd sausage on her travels.
- Nala weighs 6 1/2 stone (43kg), making surgery more complicated! she’s a friendly dog and a big softie at heart. A lifelong companion, who is usually affectionate full of excitement and sometimes up to mischief!
- On a walk to the river, 9 weeks ago Nala went to swim her usual route but injured her back left leg badly . A trip to the vets anticipated it was cruciate ligament damage and prescribed pain medication and light walks. An X-ray confirmed that cruciate ligament surgery was required to stabilise the knee. Surgery was too complicated because of her size, so a specialist veterinary surgeon is necessary.
- On the 23/7/24 after exploring numerous options, I decided that I couldn’t keep nala in so much pain and confined to the home any longer. She was prepared at the vets for further investigations and surgery.
- A call from the vet, lead me to decide to delay the operation. X-rays and leg manipulation found nala has cruciate ligament damage to both legs (wobbly knees). She now requires surgery on both legs!!
- I was heartbroken , that I couldn’t support my dog financially any further and she left untreated.
- I am doing my very best to help nala under extreme circumstances. I have exhausted every channel known and even spoke to the team at super vet’s about the possibility of appearing on TV!
- Nala means the world to me and I’d do anything to get this girl pain free and happy again.
- If you can help at all please all donations are gratefully appreciated. Every penny will be spent towards nala’s surgery.
