Name a Norfolk Mermaid ‍

Last year, we received a donated, 12-foot, fiberglass City of Norfolk mermaid from Mermaid Winery. We need your help to repair her and to have her painted by a local artist for display at the Downtown Norfolk Community Garden.

We also need a name. For each $5 donated here, you can nominate a name or many names for the mermaid. The name will be selected at random. Only respectful and dignified names will be accepted—no innuendo, divisive names, business names, or political figures.

Donations will cover fiberglass repair, supplies, artist commission, and safe mounting.

How it Works:

1. Donate $XX

2. Divide $XX by $5 per vote = #Total Number of Votes

3. Scroll to the bottom of the receipt - Select "Add a comment" and sign into your GoFundMe account - Select "Edit", add a comment or make changes, and be sure to save

4. Record in the comments your chosen Name and the number of votes - "Name (#Votes)"

Example:

1. Donate $100

2. Divide $100 / $5 per vote = 20 Total Votes

3. Comment: "Esmeralda (15) and Rose Muffin (5)"

Winner will be selected via lottery on New Year's Eve.

Downtown Norfolk Community Garden retains the right to reject any submission and refund for inappropriateness. All donations final.
