Ɔbarima kɛseɛ kɔ akuraa!

A great man has gone to the village of his ancestors!

Our dearly beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and leader, Nana Kwame Agyei Akoto (Isaac T. Hargrove), has passed on to the realm of the ancestors. Nana Agyei was an internationally respected scholar, educator, musician, shrine worker, institution builder and author.  He was the visionary and one of the founders of the NationHouse Positive Action Center and the Ankɔbea Society. Nana Agyei hails from Columbus Mississippi and received his baccalaureate and master's degrees from Howard University in Washington, D.C. He was a respected elder who had unparalleled vision, expansive knowledge, bottomless determination, unabated dedication, and tireless commitment to family.

We celebrate the life and work of Nana Kwame Agyei Akoto. We give thanks to the Akoto family for sharing their loved one with us and we pledge to continue building family, community and nation!

Ɔbra yɛ ko, Abusua yɛ dɔm!
