Bringing our angel Nana Kessie back home
Dear Family and Friends,
It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved granddaughter, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, colleague and dearest friend Nana Fonwaah Kessie.
Nana passed away on Saturday July 27, 2024, in London, UK while supporting a friend at their graduation ceremony. An intended joyous short trip to celebrate her friend, abruptly ended with the heartbreak of her sudden passing.
Her family is currently faced with the challenging and unexpected task of repatriating Nana back home to Canada, where she can be properly laid to rest. As a community, we would like to support the Kessie family towards the costs of repatriation. The cost of repatriation is significant, and we are reaching out for your support during this difficult time.
Nana was a selfless angel, a guiding light who brought joy to those around her and many of us who were blessed to know her. The absence of her infectious laughter, positivity, kindness, selflessness, and determination in everything that she did is now being felt by all family and friends impacted by her sudden passing.
Nana is the eldest of six siblings and took that responsibility quite dutifully following the unexpected loss of her father, George Kessie, 8 years ago. We would like for you to join us to support her mother, Gifty Kessie, as she begins the difficult process of bringing her daughter back home to Ottawa, Canada, to be laid to rest next to her late father.
The proceeds of the fundraising will go towards the cost of the repatriation of her remains to Ottawa in addition to the funeral and burial costs.
The love Nana shared and life that she lived, will not be in vain. Heaven has gained an angel who is now watching over all of us who dearly miss her.
Thank you for your support.
