Nana's Road To Recovery

Joyce Moyer AKA Nana was in a serious single car accident the night of June 30, 2017. Joyce is just like any other wife/Nana and after a week of her husband and grand kids being gone visiting family in east tn she was ready to get them home. She got off work in Clarksville on that day and started her journey to go and pick them up. She stopped by my house in Nashville and I asked if she wanted me to go with her but there wouldn't of been enough seat belts for everybody on the way back (i wish i would of insisted). Instead we said our see you laters because she was coming right back to drop my kids off. Little did i know she would never arrive at her destination. She left my house at 6:30pm and when she hadn't arrived 3 hours later, i knew something was wrong. Got on TDOT Smart way and saw there was an accident on I40 at mile marker 298 and her exit was going to be 300. I knew immediately that it was her. A few phone calls were made and my fears were confirmed and she was life flighted to Vandy. I was at Vandy within 10 minutes and I wasn't prepared for the news i was about to receive... there were several broken bones and the orthopedic surgeon kept reiterating that he is there to save her life. Her legs were crushed and the left leg had no blood flow and needed to be amputated that night. So I signed the paper and the waiting game began. She made it through surgery (they weren't sure that she would due to blood loss). Joyce has already beat cancer and so I know how strong she is. In the days, weeks, months, and years to come her and my dad are going to need all the financial help they can get due to Joyce being the only one working (my dad was disabled when he was severely burned in 2005).
