Update 2/10/22:
It is with great sadness that we share our mother suddenly passed away at her home on Monday, February 7th, 2022. Nancy was able to spend time with her family and friends in the few weeks following her surgery and chemo treatment. She was so excited to be back attending Mass and the women's prayer group at her diocese. She enjoyed the beach drives and visiting others with her beloved husband, Capt. Benny Arispe. She looked forward to rebuilding her business, working, and volunteering in her community.
As we prepare to celebrate her life, we must remember she was on a "win, win" journey in this fight against anaplastic cancer. She was at peace with decisions made as she always put trust in God. Her faith, strength and positive energy carried her and her family along the way. She had an amazing medical team who took great care with each procedure and treatment.
Our family is continuing this donation as Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers. The contributions will help the family with funeral and medical expenses. We continue to thank you for your all of your kind support and prayers. Funeral & Mass information coming soon.
"Happy Tears" from this day forward as Nancy (our Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma) taught us! Let's celebrate the amazing memories!
We love you all!
Arispe, Yeley, Lizcano, Brymer, Montantez, Pizana & Hawthorne Family.
Update 1/3/2022: Happy New Year!
First and foremost, our family sends many thanks and gratitude to all the thoughtful donors for your prayers, monetary contributions, and positive messages towards my mom's campaign (through social media and privately). Without your support, this wouldn't be possible.
We would like to share that our mom's experimental treatments at MD Anderson are working and she is showing great progress! Even with a brief setback of multiple strokes encountered on November 10, 2021, our mom continues to show her strength in fighting this "Tricky" cancer. The Anaplastic Cancer in her neck has significantly shrunk and she is currently undergoing a 7-8 hour surgery TODAY. She is scheduled to spend a few days to one-week in the hospital. She is in great hands with her Amazing Medical Team as God has his hand in every aspect of her care. We ask you continue to send positive messages and prayers for her successful surgery and speedy recovery. She loves hearing from family and friends as this puts a smile on her face and an extra beat in her heart.
Love to all! Arispe, Yeley, Lizcano, Brymer, Montantez & Pizana Family!
Hi, my name is Kristie Yeley and our family started this campaign for our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nancy Arispe. On September 7, 2021, Nancy was diagnosed with Stage IV Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma; a very rare and aggressive cancer that has effected the organs in her neck, in particular, right side voice box and trachea. After an unsuccessful surgery, Nancy was referred to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas for further testing. Fortunately, she was a candidate for a special cancer treatment! She just started chemo medication and an IV Immunotherapy cancer treatment which is not fully covered by her insurance. The results from testing indicated the cancer has now spread to her liver, lungs, lymph nodes, and bones. Her medical team and family are highly optimistic that these cancer treatments will help shrink the anaplastic cancer in efforts for future surgery; remove as much of the cancer as possible; and save the organs in her neck. Although this type of cancer in incurable, through his cancer treatment, Nancy's life will be prolonged more than 3-6 months, which is the prognosis of life expectancy.

To all who know Nancy, she is a prayer warrior and a fighter! Her love of life shines through the hardest days, especially keeping our family strong during this time! Her smile truly lights up a room. She enjoys helping all who come in contact with her. She is ready to return to work as soon as she can, serving and delivering the much needed food and necessities to her valued customers and volunteering in her beloved community of Rockport-Fulton, Texas.
We are hoping you can share this message in support of our cause; donating to Nancy's medical fees not covered by insurance and travel expenses to and from MD Anderson which is 3-3 1/2 hours from her home. Nancy will be traveling to MD Anderson every three weeks for further cancer treatment starting October 26, 2021. Along with our Dad, we ask that all continue to share encouragement, love, peace, blessings and prayers for our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother and all who may be going through this type of journey.
Love to all! Arispe, Yeley, Lizcano, Brymer, Montantez & Pizana Family!
