Nancy Burgos Funeral Fund

We are devastated to share that on November 4th, our beloved grandma, Nancy, took her last breath. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, and friend loved by all. Grandma was always positive and put family first.

Her health was noticeably fragile as of May. It was never anticipated that a hospital stay for something as simple as low blood sugar, will lead to many other problems and a catastrophic pneumonia infection that progressed so quickly.

Uncontrolled diabetes -> kidney failure & CHF -> edema -> dialysis -> sepsis -> bed-bound/weakness -> sores -> mild herniation of vertebrae -> diskitis -> osteomyelitis -> chronic back pain -> gastritis -> ulcers -> GI bleeding -> low blood pressure -> blood transfusions -> loss of appetite -> pneumonia. 

Grandma said it was like taking your car for an oil change and finding out there were other issues. "LET ME FIND OUT..." The problems piled up. It took a toll on her family, but she still fought; whether it was eating the food we brought her when she wasn't hungry or participating in therapy when she was in pain. She did it for as long as she could to make us happy. 

Grandma was larger than life. She cooked amazing food, had the best personality, and the matriarch of her adoring family. The love the family has for her is limitless. There are so many fond memories that we share with her and we will miss her dearly. 

We would like to thank everyone who came to help take care of her, visit her at the hospital, the nursing homes, spent time with her, and shared jokes. 

Please consider helping out our family during this difficult time as we navigate through this tragedy and plan a memorial service that she deserves. Funds donated will be used to offset funeral cost, burial, and memorial services. Any amount is greatly appreciated! 

Nov. 11th  - Visitation @ Woodlawn Funeral Home from 3pm-8pm

Nov. 12th  - Chapel Service @ Woodlawn Funeral Home at 10am 
                        - Burial @ Mt. Carmel Cemetery
