Medical Mayday for Nancy Fay - Please Support!
Nancy Fay, who has been an INCREDIBLY selfless promoter of quality equestrian competition - especially for the local grassroots horse show series- really needs our support. Whether you’ve heard her announcing horse shows or bombarded her with emails about your kid’s points for a certain show series - if you’re into horseshows, you’ve crossed paths with Nancy Fay.
Since March of 2020 Nancy has been
hospitalized and under intense medical care,
having even spent months on a ventilator (not COVID related) and in a coma. She spent the summer in basically a mental fog from a combination drug therapies and ‘lack of organ cooperation’, for lack of better words. She just this week finally had her trach removed which is a great step towards recovery, but continues to need daily dialysis while her kidneys get their act together. She is working hard in physical therapy with the goal to stand and walk again.
Because of “THE ALL OF THIS”, Nancy is going to need time in a facility as a long term care resident, and to be frank, insurance is running out. I’m asking for the equestrian community to step in to help one of our own.
Nancy has been a mentor of mine for over 20 years. When I was a bright eyed pony kid volunteer at Shannondell Farm Nancy took me under her wing and taught me all about horse show management - and even let me announce to my delight! She was always trying to include and educate anyone who simply had love for the sport. This was what fueled her passion for the freedom horse show series - an organization that she volunteered countless hours towards - just to promote quality horse shows to the people that love the sport. Seriously though- she had no skin in the game! She didn’t own/buy/sell horses, have students or family that competed - she just loved doing it. So for that and all that she has done for her friends, I’m starting this go fund me to help ease the financial burden on Fay while she continues her journey to recovery and hopefully independence again. Thank you for your support!
