There’s something so magical about finding your people. They finish your sentences and dot your “I’s” and have your back. They tie your shoes and and shape your blues. Your musical family becomes your most intimate relationships. Together you mend broken hearts and rebuild bridges of hope and joy that transcend a universe of tears.
B3 from the Blues up
Remember when Jazz was finger snappin groovin good and you couldn’t stay in your seat? The swing was so deep you were on your feet dancing and clapping to the beat. There’s gonna be a whole lotta that good feelin music on this very exciting outing.
It’s no secret how much I love the Hammond B3. It has been on my bandstands and in my life for much of my career even as far back as my rock days. I am inspired and excited to record another B3 recording. The thing that’s super cool and exciting is Ill be joined by a former student, William Gorman.
Such a compelling story.
I first met William when he was in high school and taking voice lessons with me. He was simultaneously studying piano with virtuoso Rick Montalbano. A very substantial mentoring team for this bright young man. The tradition of Jazz B3 is in very good hands with this “real deal” organist, William Gorman
I would talk often of the importance of learning ”Jazz” from the Blues up.
I encouraged him to go to New York. He attended William Patterson where he got his Masters in Music. He has toured extensively with real deal Blues and Gospel artists and went on to tour the world with Jazz/Blues Sax dynamo, Vanessa Collier.
I would dream at lessons that one day he and I would perform together. That dream came true and made clear we had to record together.
Wait… there’s more… The great Carmen Intorre Jr on Drums . Carmen is in my opinion one of the great bebop swing and almost everything else drummers alive today. And the baddest of bad tenor players, Jerry Weldon. And if that’s not enough.. a special guest appearance on 1 or 2 tunes by the sax legend, Houston Person. and.. One of the great living B3 recording artists, guitarist, Dave Stryker
I am very blessed to have the support of Jazz radio and fans worldwide. My recordings are revered and do very well.
With your help we can bring a lotta fun back into life. This is my kinda Jam as they say. It’s my real house wheel house !!
Having once had a label that would financially back all my projects I am now alone and come to you, my friends and fans for support and the means to make this project come to life. Very simply put, I cannot do this without your help. It keeps me visible, viable and road ready!
We need music and art more than ever when it’s become clear we are losing a grip on culture and decency. Let’s all be a part of the healing.
