Nancy Rizor.
A name so easily called when help is needed.
A call so selflessly answered by a remarkable woman
The tables have turned, she needs help my friends.
As we speak, Nancy is being taken by ambulance to Memorial Modesto, she is in intense condition and its going to be a battle.
What we know right now after a CT is that her stomach is blocked (she is unable to digest food), she has a tear in her stomach somewhere and she has been vomiting blood, combined with the symptoms she was presenting last year.
As many of you know, one year ago we faced what seemed like insurmountable odds when my mother found herself unable to digest food due to a mysterious closure that blocked the exit of her stomach. She was paper thin, incoherent, her heart wasn't functioning. She was so malnourished that she had refeeding syndrome, yes, like concentration camp survivors. A stint was placed and did an "okay" job of letting her receive nutrition from limited food, not enough though, she has had side effects and pain daily. Medications that seemed to offer some relief were astronomically priced for a woman who found herself suddenly retired due to her new physical condition.
There are going to be needs all over the place, to make sure she gets the care she deserves, the care she would be offering were still physically able to be a Nurse.
Whatever lies ahead, please donate what you can to ease the financial burden of a woman who has dedicated 40 years of her life serving all of us as an exceptional Nurse, friend, mother, aunt, sister, coworker and advocate
