In Loving Memory of Nancy, Rudy & Jonquil

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jennifer and on behalf of the friends and family of Nancy Martin, we are devastated by the loss of her and her son Rudy and her granddaughter Jonquil. On Wednesday, July 26th their house caught fire and was a total loss. Nancy passed on the scene. Rudy was taken to the hospital, but because he was trapped in the house he later passes due to smoke inhalation. Jonquil suffered severe burns and was life-flighted to Augusta, but later passed due to her injuries. The only members to survive were her daughter Alysia and her youngest grandson Willie who were able to jump out of a window to survive. Alicia had fractured her back from the impact of the escape. Nancy was the sole caretaker for all of them.

  • Nancy had a heart of gold! Her son Rudy was autistic and for 10 years she was a special needs bus driver for Cobb County. She loved kids so much that she was also a foster mom for 8 years taking care of all kinds of kids, including kids with special needs. She also loved having Rudy and Jonquil involved in The Special Olympics!

  • She was a loving grandmother who was always in attendance at awards ceremonies for her kids, bringing in cupcakes or taking Willie to his martial arts classes. She always wanted them to try new things!

  • If you were in Nancy's life, you knew you had someone who would always be there for you. She always wanted to give to other people. Nancy would regularly visit food pantries and get food to give to people she knew were in need. She was a mom or grandma to many people in her community whether they were family or not.

  • By providing financial assistance, we can help with the costs of funeral arrangements and a celebration of life along with setting up a fund for Willie.

  • No donation is too small and every contribution will make a significant impact on her surviving (oldest) son Greg and her daughter Alicia. Your generosity can help alleviate their financial burdens during this very difficult time. Please consider a donation, or if you are unable to donate, we kindly ask for prayers and to share this with your friends and family through social networks. Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
