Hi, My name is JDarling and I want to reach out to the neighbors and friends of Yaya to ask for help.
Nancy(Yaya) has lived around Sonoma County since 2006, she moved here to live near her daughter and two granddaughters. Her daughter is a chef at the Casino’s Holly and Tali Show. Yaya is a retired MSW (social worker) who retired early. She opened Crystal Clear in Bodega in 2020, selling crystals, jewelry, highlighting local artists, and giving council. Her store fulfills her lifelong dream of helping people, sharing her love of crystals, and being able to use her many gifts (practitioner of feng shui, numerologist, and reiki master).
For the past 7 years, Yaya has made her home in West Sonoma. She used her retirement funds to purchase a travel trailer and create her own little oasis. This all changed Sunday 2/4, during the horrific wind and rainstorm, a giant fir tree, in the neighbor’s yard, fell and demolished her home. As a result, she and her little dog Felix are without a home. She is temporarily staying with a neighbor through the end of February, but will need to find a place to stay by the first of March.
Due to ongoing health issues, Yaya has not been able to work in the shop. Yaya wants to keep the shop open, so she has people working for her. Due to the downturn in retail sales this last holiday season, this is an additional strain. Her health issues involve needing procedures and getting her strength back. Unfortunately, she keeps having setbacks, and she just fell a few days ago and broke her wrist. She does have health insurance, but still the medical bills are draining her resources, and now the destruction of her home. To make matters worse, at this time, neither her insurance nor the neighbor’s insurance will not pay for the damage.
Please help. We are seeking to raise $36,000 to help her rebuild her life, her home, and to keep her store afloat as she recovers from these many losses.
