Naomi Adams

Naomi is a wife and mother of 5 beautiful children. She discovered a lump on her upper chest/ribs in September 2020. Her doctor speculated that a rib was out of place. After seeing a chiropractor and being told there was nothing she could do, she assumed it may fix itself. As time went on it got bigger and more painful. After several tests Naomi was diagnosed with Desmond Type Fibromatosis which is a rare tumor that acts like cancer and causes damage to organs, tissue, and bones. Doctors say surgery is not possible in this specific case because the margins aren’t clear and it would likely return. Chemotherapy became the course of treatment, and Naomi had to travel to Boston to receive the chemo. She has undergone the maximum amount allowed for this type of chemotherapy which is 6 treatments. An MRI February 16th revealed a slight decrease in overall size of the tumor. Naomi is currently taking a break from chemo and has an MRI scheduled for June to see if the tumor continues to decrease. Though her workouts have gotten slower and less intense, Naomi has continued to maintain fitness throughout her journey. She uses fitness as a form of therapy, reminding herself how strong and able her body is. “The unknown has been scary at times… but my faith in God has carried me through with great peace. I am so thankful for my family, that has been incredible support, as well as the sweet messages from friends letting me know they are thinking about me and praying for me. Even through the toughest trials I can see that I’m truly blessed.”
