A year ago our dad got diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease after years of dealing with liver disease. He had been working with a transplant team since last May to hopefully receive a kidney and liver transplant.

In March, we received hopeful news that a donor was found but unfortunately it was not a good match for him. We remained hopeful that a new donor would come soon.

At the end of April, we got the unfortunate news that based on his quickly declining strength and overall health, he was not strong enough to survive one transplant, let alone two, and would not have much time left.

This news has been a hard and unexpected time to deal with after being so hopeful he was close to a path of recovery once receiving his transplants.

Thank you to our community for all your emotional support during this difficult time.

The sudden news and changes have also dealt with unexpected and higher than expected costs for us as siblings, especially as two of us had to travel from California. Asking for help is never easy, and any financial donations that you’re able to provide would be so greatly appreciated.
