My name is Natalia and I will be running the 128th Boston Marathon thanks to LLEGO Boston.
I've always been very athletic and as a Store Manager at Starbucks I love helping our Hispanic community. I play table tennis, soccer, softball, basketball, cycling and running which I started doing two years ago after having a Labrum tear surgery. Running the Boston Marathon means the world to me and my family. It means pushing myself beyond my limits and inspiring others to overcome their fears. Being Latina means so much to me, it means my roots, unity, family, my past, present and future. It means my culture, something that it cannot be taken away from me, I own it, accept it and embrace it in every step I take.
LLEGO Boston is a social group of Latino emergency responders and citizens that have come together to promote community policing, engage with the community and encourage young people to consider law enforcement as a career.
Their mission is to unite the knowledge and experience of Latino enforcement officers to promote diversity in law enforcement by furthering partnerships with the community through recruitment, education, and trust.
Through the numerous programs they offer the community of Boston, LLEGO will help these kids become the leader the community needs and has been asking for.
