Natalia Soares, help an Oredigger in need!

Hi there! I'm Bruce Yoshioka, a friend of Natalia Soares. Natalia graduated in December 2018 with her Masters degree from the Department of Mining Engineering at Colorado School of Mines...Go Orediggers! She's most recently been working for Rio Tinto in Salt Lake City, Utah as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer. That should tell you that she's incredibly intelligent and that she has the tenacity to get through the program. I see Natalia as a warm, kind-hearted person that cares deeply about others, and this is an opportunity to show that Orediggers and friends come together for those in need. 40 days ago, Natalia fell while skiing and she had an x-ray taken to see if she had a fracture, only to find a mass in her bones. After the x-ray, an MRI was taken which found the mass, thought to be a cyst, was Chondrosarcoma Stage 2, a cancer of cartilage growing inside her bones. Looking ahead, she has surgery scheduled for February 3rd for the cancerous growth on her right shoulder and performing a full shoulder replacement for a prosthetic.

Natalia is one tough cookie, but as expected, she's afraid. I just know she can beat this and overcome the adversities of needing a prosthetic. She needs her focus to be on fighting cancer, while we can all help her to relieve some of her financial burdens.
