Natalie & Adrian's loss from an attack on their FFA animals.

On February 11, 2025, our students Natalie Casas and Adrian Salazar from the Mary Carroll High School FFA program in Corpus Christi, TX, experienced a horrible tragedy when a pack of six stray dogs gained access to our school barn, attacking five of their animals. As a result of the attack, Adrian lost his prized show lamb, and Natalie had to euthanize her other prized lamb and goat due to the severity of their injuries. There is a glimmer of hope for Natalie's other goat and lamb as they are slowly recovering from their injuries.

Not only are our students still recovering from the loss of their animal projects, but they are also feeling the loss of potential income that would go towards their future college funds, which comes with raising and selling animal projects in an FFA program. Both Natalie and Adrian put in countless hours toward the care and maintenance of their animals. Their dedication to their animals was unwavering. Their early mornings and late evenings to maintain a feeding schedule, exercise regimen, and spending their own money on equipment, medicines, and veterinary appointments all to ensure the overall health of their animals during the FFA show season were lost because of this terrible incident. As seniors, this tragic incident has impacted their ability to participate in their last year as senior showman in other major stock shows with their prized animals. Sadly, in losing some of their animals, they have lost out on making other cherished memories that come along with the experience of being an FFA student participating in stock show competitions. Our hearts and prayers go out to Natalie and Adrian as they recover from this tragic incident with their FFA show animals.
