I am starting this go fund me, hoping to reach out for help to honor my mom's wishes. As some may know, my mom was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in June of 2021, stage 4. Unfortunately, we had no warnings, no prior stages, just the terminal prognoses. However, mom didn't let that stop her and started treatments in September 2021. She fought, she fought to live even despite the odds being against her. In the first 6 months of her treatments, her cancer appeared to respond well to chemo. We were not looking for a cure but time. The doctor's scans, and her body led us to believe she may have 2 years give or take, if she continued to fight with the treatments. However, her cancer seemed to have other plans, as I suppose cancer does. Overnight it took over. On June 9th, my mom was good. At least from what we could see on the outside. She was so looking forward to going to see the Jurassic Park movie, the following day that it premiered. A date we made; 3 months prior. When she woke that morning, her fate was changed. Hope was lost and time diminished. Her body was tired and succumbed to an infection. After 10 days in the hospital, she was sent home and only 24 hours, I had to have her brought back to the hospital. She was in liver failure. Something that was not detected even 72 hours prior. It appears she had developed a mass in her pancreas, now causing liver failure. Things went from slow progression to incredibly aggressive and defeating. She went from hoping to have a year, to being told 6 months, and then 3 days later, told she had only days left. I brought mom home on last Saturday to honor her wishes to pass at home with her family, as I had done in the past with her parents, my Pappy and Babby. My mom fought to buy time to spend with her family, especially her Harlow and to live her last days to their fullest. When I told her the results, that she was in liver failure, all she said, is " I know that's not good, but I feel I still have time." My mom has been at home, fighting to hold on. Soon, her body will be too tired and we will need to fulfill her last wishes. My mom, is a devote Russian Orthodox Christian. Her wishes are to be buried next to her parents that lay resting. I am asking for those that can, if they can help with funeral costs. When we got mom's diagnosis, we did start preparations, but we are a little less than half way there. For those that know me, know I am not one to ask for help, but I am setting aside my pride and asking those that can help, will. Thank you and God Bless.
