In memory of Natasha Joy Louis and her son Elijah

My name is Rebecca and my sister Natasha passed away on March 9th due to an overdose. She was a wonderful person who had addiction take over her life. My mom Shareen has been raising my nephew Elijah for the last 4 years on her own. Elijah just had his 12th birthday the day before we found out about my sister's passing.

My mom is in her 70's and spent her entire life doing in-home daycare and finally retired and now has custody of and is raising her grandson on her own. She has a long road ahead of her and a lot of expenses raising a child, especially one who will more than likely need counseling/therapy. We never knew until my mom got custody of Elijah that there is no extra assistance when it's a family member raising a child in these circumstances.

Anyone who knows me knows I don't like asking for anything, but I want to help my mom and nephew in any way that I can. I appreciate anything that can help out.
