As some of you may know, my sister Natasha was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy at birth. A disorder that affects a persons' movement, motor skills, and muscle tone, and in Natasha's case, her condition is severe. She is unable to talk, swallow, or walk and she experiences chronic seizures and spasms in her muscles.

On December 17th Natasha was taken to the Trail hospital after catching Influenza A. There, her health only continued to worsen. The hospital isn't equipped with the technology to help her, so she had to be transferred to the Vancouver Children's hospital as soon as possible. She was put on a waiting list and was finally able to be transferred on December 24th. She and her dad traveled by ambulance and plane. Due to the bad weather, It was a long and tiring process that put her body under a lot of stress. My mom, grandma, and siblings (ages 8 & 2) also drove down to Vancouver on Christmas eve, so that they could all be together on Christmas day.

At Vancouver Children's Hospital, they were able to stabilize her, but she is making very little, and slow progress. Influenza A is a viral infection that attacks your respiratory system. Her lungs are filled with liquid that she is unable to cough up or have drained, and she's since developed a secondary infection due to the respirator in her throat.

She is slowly being taken off of her medications and anesthetics, but her condition continues to change day-to-day, and new obstacles keep arising. But Natasha is a fighter. The doctors have given us very grim prognosis, but she has made it through every drawback.

Natasha is in need of constant care and support from my parents, Francis and Rod, and we don't know how long it will take for her to be healthy enough for everyone to return back home. Whatever you are able to donate will help to ease the stress of finances for my family during this time.

Please share this with your friends and your family. Thank you so much, from all of us.
