Nate Buckley's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
On the afternoon of December 31st, Alexa found Nate unconscious and not breathing on their basement floor where he had been playing X-Box. She immediately began CPR until medical professionals and an ambulance arrived. After a few hours in Prairie Lakes Hospital with little to no improvement or answers, he was flown to Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls where he is still unconscious and on ventilators. He has been undergoing extensive cardiac and neurological tests and scans to try to get to the root of the issue. Initial results show some irregularities with his heart. Brain damage, if any, is unknown at this time. This has come as a shock since he is a fit 15 year old boy with no prior conditions. After no changes for the rest of the day, it was decided he would spend Saturday, January 1st fully sedated and on the ventilator to allow his body to recuperate. The course of treatment will be taken one day at a time depending on a multitude of factors. Once it is determined that he can be weened off of the sedative, he has a long road of physical, speech, and occupational therapy ahead. Anything helps to cover the costs of the life saving medical procedures, hotel bills, and future therapy sessions. Along with any monetary donations, we ask that you pray for Nate to be brought back into the loving arms of his mother Beth, big sisters Alexa and Lydia, father Glen, step-father Scott, and the rest of his family and friends.
