3/6/24 update
Thank you all for your prayers and generosity! Stephanie will be taking unpaid leave from work until April 1 to care for Nate so this is a huge blessing!
Here is an update from Stephanie: “First, thank you for praying and caring for us!
Nate is coming along. His biggest complaint right now is pain from the incision that had to be reopened. We’re trusting that will ease as he heals.
His vitals have been improving and that helps us both feel better!
Glucose levels are coming down also and he’s not having the extreme spikes that he was. All glory to God!”
***3/1/24 update***
Here's an update: he's been discharged and heading home. Now the longer journey begins - recovery! They still don't know what caused the infection, but they have it under control. He'll need daily checks with a healthcare professional for wound care, so all of your gifts are very appreciated. Keep praying and looking out for further updates!
February 26th Nate was admitted into the ICU for septic shock.
As of February 29th he is still in the hospital but out of ICU. The cause of the sepsis is still unknown but he is responding to medication. His fever is down and his blood pressure is stabilized. It is unknown how long his hospital stay will be and what the recovery will look like.
Because of this extended hospital stay there have been added medical expenses, meals, transportation to and from hospital and lost wages.
We appreciate your prayers and care during this time! We will update this page as we know more.
