Nate, Hannah, and Ava Jaus
Donation protected
Edited to add: Beth and I are Hannah's co workers and friends. This Gofundme has been set up to go directly to Hannah to help support her and Ava during this difficult time.
On December 30, 2023, Hannah Jaus and her daughter, Ava’s lives were forever changed. While driving to work, Nate Jaus, an outstanding father, beloved husband, courageous son and brother, was in a head-on collision, was ejected from his vehicle and sustained extensive injuries leaving him in critical condition. Nate was taken from Fairview Hibbing ER to St Mary’s Level 1 Trauma Center in Duluth by ambulance. On arrival to St Mary’s, Nate was admitted to the Neuro ICU for monitoring and high-level care in hopes that further testing would bring a miracle. Tragically, in the day to come, Hannah would find out the worst-case scenario: that due to Nate’s injuries, he would never wake up.
Nate has always been known for being a giver and would take the shirt off his back for anyone, to the point of even donating a kidney in 2022 to a dear friend. Through his generous spirit, he continued through death what he gave in life, the gift of organ donation. On January 1, 2024, the honorable Flag of Life at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN was raised in honor of Nate. The Moment of Silence was written by their beloved, strong, beautiful 6 year old daughter Ava, who was the apple of his eye and greatest accomplishment. Nate will live on through his daughter Ava, who will grow up knowing the deeply special person her daddy was because of the many friends and family that will carry on his legacy for Ava.
During this difficult time, we ask that if you are unable to donate to help cover medical and funeral costs, please keep Hannah, Ava and their family and friends in your prayers. If you wish, please add condolences, a memory, or photos below to keep his spirit alive for them to have and hold as time goes on.
