Nate Nicaraguan Disaster Relief
Donation protected
Our neighbourhood has been devistated. Many have lost everything including their lives. Costa Dulce will donate our time and resources to the releif efforts, however any aditional financial aid will be extremely helpful. Our first priority will be to secure clean drinking water for our neighbouring villages, that are home to 2000+ residents. The flooding has contaminated the water supply so filtration systems are in dire need. We will use the first money raised to purchase filters, $35USD each, would like to get at least 100 units, next we will help families who lost their home and loved ones. All funds raised will go directly to the purchase filters, food and building material. I will update this page on how the funds are spent and how our community fairs through this difficult time. For those intrested in visiting our hotel, we are open for business and by visiting you will also help us fund the releif effort.
My name is Tyson Harris and I am the owner of Costa Dulce Ecolodge located on the southern pacific coast of Nicaragua. It is also the area that was hit the hardest. Fortunately our place is well built and on a hill so we did not suffer any damage. At costa dulce we put the people and the enviroment before profits and intend to work tirelessly until our communities are rebuilt. You can read about our hotel on our website www.costadulcebeach.com
Costa Dulce Hotel is managing the funds raised and paying directly for the materials needed.
100% of the funds we raise will be used cover the direct costs of providing immidiate aid and and rebuilding the homes lost.
On immidiate releif we will spend $2760 on food $600, clean drinking water $40, 50 water filters @ $26 each, 20 matresses @ $20 each, Gasoline for generators to pump water $120, Machine hour to open the public road to the communities $300
The rest of the funds raised will used to purchase building materials and to assist those who lost their homes with reconstuction. There is 17 fully destroyed homes in our neighbouring communities and each one will use between $1500-$2500 in material to rebuild. We will identify those most in need and help them first (Single mothers without family support).
Notes: This GoFund me account is in Cdn dollars which is currentlyworth .79 USD.
We are assessing the devistation, with your help we will rebuild.
Jimena will be drinking clean water thanks to our efforts!
Thanks you!
This is a start.
