Nate's Fight to Save His Family’s Home After the Storm
Donation protected
My name is DeAnthony Herbert, and I want introduce my incredible Marine Corps brother, Nathan McCain, to the world. Nate isn't just a fellow Marine, he’s family. We served side by side in the Marine Corps (3d MAW Band) where he beat the drums with passion and precision. Nate is the kind of man who, after setting aside his music career, devoted himself fully to his family, seeking a life of stability and meaning. His strength and determination have always been unmatched.

Recently, Nate and his wife Adrienne found what they thought was their slice of paradise—a house they could call their own in Gainesville, Florida. It wasn’t perfect, but it had charm, and they put their hearts and souls into making it a home. Every step of the way, Nate shared photos with me, showing their progress with pride. This home meant everything to them—a dream realized through their hard work. "Bro, we got it! :D"

But in a cruel twist of fate, Hurricane Helene came crashing down on everything they built. Trees tore through their home, structural damage left their house leaking, and the storm ripped their shed apart like it was nothing. Through all this, Nate texted me updates on the destruction, his frustration clear: "We are so fked," he said. His family had weathered the storm physically unharmed, but their home, the life they were building, was left in shambles.

Now, they’re staring at an $11,000 deductible just to get repairs started, and Nate is overwhelmed. His message this morning hit me hard: "Pics coming. We are fixing, selling, then moving out of FL. This stress just isn't worth it."
I know that tone. The one that comes when you feel like you’ve given all you have, and it still isn’t enough. Nate deserves better. His family deserves better. This is a man who has served his country, sacrificed for his family, and worked relentlessly to create a better life. Now, he’s facing a financial burden that’s pushing him to give up on what was once their dream.

I’m asking for your help. Let’s rally together for Nate and Adrienne. Every donation, every share, and every word of support will help them get back on their feet. My brother needs us, and I know we can show him and his family that they are not alone in this fight.
Let’s give Nate the support he deserves.

This $15,000 hurricane emergency fund is crucial for swift recovery. Of this, $11,000 will go directly toward the insurance deductible, ensuring that the bulk of the funds will be used to cover immediate repair or replacement costs in the wake of a hurricane. The remaining $4,000 is reserved for critical incidentals—temporary housing, food, fuel, and other essential needs that could arise in the aftermath. With tight margins, every dollar matters. Your support can help bridge the gap and ensure preparedness for these unexpected challenges. Anything you can offer truly makes a difference.
UPDATE 09/30/2024
The McCains community has come out and shown support with donations and labor. A volunteer crew came out and helped cut way some of the trees with a chainsaw and a ladder. Huge shoutout to Done Right Roofing and especially to their owners, Rosa and Pedro!

The work still isn’t done and the structural engineer elements are still going to be a huge expense. Donations, words of support, and sharing is crucial to make sure that they can make the repairs to get their home back on track.

Things are looking up as we continue to receive an outpouring of help from friends, family, and well wishers. We aren’t done yet - but there is hope. Let’s continue to give them the continued support they need to get this done!
