Nathan Brandon Peterson passed away in his sleep as the result of a seizure on Sunday, Oct 23, 2022. Born to Sondra & Tom on December 7th, 1995, he was 26 years old. Nathan’s world was very small, but he got great joy from camping with his dad, car rides with his family, watching his “big three” Barney, Teletubbies, and Blue’s Clues on video, eating snacks, and taking hot baths. He took many, many walks, always with his music player.
Even though Nathan was non-verbal, he made quite an impression on everyone he encountered. He was frequently recognized when out in the community with his family. Earlier in his life, Nathan attended the Easter Seals school and graduated from Clairview School.
He is survived by his parents Sondra, Tom, and Matt, and his sister Stephanie (Adam Payne). He was preceded by his brother Nickolas, his favorite person in the entire world.
Through the years, Nathan has had many TSSs/aides that helped support and develop his skills with special mention to Eric Leonard who was a part of Nathan’s life for over a decade and became part of the entire family. We are forever grateful to everyone that played a part in Nathan’s frequently challenging life.
The family all wishes to acknowledge the Westmoreland Chapter of the Autism Society of America, especially Lisa who helped guide and support me in the early stages of his diagnosis. I am truly grateful for your friendship and guidance.
Nathan will be forever missed.
