To my family and Friends,
This is painful, IM hurting in a way that I can’t explain out loud please forgive me for taking so long to tell you all status updates.
On January 30, 2023 My son and my husband were involved in a MVA and hit by a sedan traveling at about 70 mph losing control for an unknown reason causing her vehicle to swerve into my husbands lane head on. unfortunately that accident cost my husband his life and left my son in icu in critical condition. My husband died a hero and because of him , our son survived. My children are devastated my heart is shattered . Our son has a very long and tough road ahead of him, his mother and I are a team , she is my family. Her whole world has now changed as well as mine as well as our children’s , I will be by her side to help her with our son every step of the way. I’ve paid for my husbands cremation and memorial service, I will post the date of the services as soon as my son is well enough to attend. We are Shooting for around March 20th. Any help with the costs of his reception following the memorial services would be a blessing, his mother and I are also asking for help with our sons medical equipment that he needs that is not covered under his insurance and that they are refuse to approve , along help with funds getting her and I to and from the 7 visits a week to and from the hospital rehab facilities and many different specialists that he now will need to see to ensure he makes a full recovery. He had a stent placed in his aortic valve, his pelvis is shattered front and back his left hip is broken, his L3,L4, and L5 are broken, an abdominal hemorrhage, his nose is broken and all of the occipital bones around his eyes, above his eyebrows, his cheek bones and around the jaw line are broken, we have applied for programs to help with costs, but like all things there is a process, and a waiting period. Due to his insurance coverage having a lapse in coverage at the time of the accident and coverage not being active until February 1st ( even though they can receive payment as insurance covers back dated claims up to 90 days ) it feels as if they are pushing his discharged date sometime within the next 3 to 5 days . I’m livid and so is his mother as we just don’t feel comfortable due to the many surgeries he has had and the high risk of infection he is so susceptible to that it is safe enough to discharge back home quite so soon, we are hoping to have him transferred to loma Linda children’s hospital and fighting diligently for the approval for the transfer . Any help at all we would be grateful for. If your unable to we just ask to please keep our family in your daily prayers, we need them. Thank you for all your love and support at this time , hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight, breath them in deeply. Tomorrow is never promised.
sincerely,
Kristin, Maggie and our Children.
