Nathan Horton Family Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi all, many of you know that Nathan Horton (my brother) underwent several emergency surgeries over the last two weeks while on vacation in Fort Myers, Florida. After experiencing excruciating pain and no relief over the course of three days, an exploratory surgery revealed that Nathan had experienced a volvulus and was in sepsis. In the surgeon's words, he was "very, very sick" and had a "fighting chance." This prognosis was shocking and terrifying, and we are so thankful for the many, many people who surrounded Nathan with prayer over the course of the next days and ensuing surgeries. This experience has truly been a witness to the power of many people coming together in prayer, and the power of our great God. After two more surgeries, including being airlifted to Tampa where he could be worked on by specialists, Nathan was moved out of the ICU on Wednesday, December 13th, where he was able to be visited by his two young daughters who were very happy to see their daddy. He was released from the hospital today (Dec. 18), and he and his wife Jamay hope to be able to fly home soon to continue the recovery process.
We are so very thankful to God for working through excellent medical staff in both Fort Myers and Tampa to provide healing for Nathan, and we are so thankful to an amazing throng of people who came alongside him to pray and offer support. THANK YOU. We have seen God at work in so many ways through this whole process. All praise to Him!
Nathan and Jamay, as well as the rest of our family, have so appreciated the financial support that has been given as well. With both of them being out of work for several weeks as well as the medical expenses of the hospital visits (including related but less severe hospital stays earlier in the year), I wanted to create this space for anyone else who is interested in supporting them in a financial way. Please don't feel any pressure to give financially, but if you would like to, you can contribute here. And we ask for continued prayers as Nathan continues along his road to recovery.
Thank you!
