Nathan Siegel (Siegel Strong)
Donation protected
Hi Friends!
We have created this fundraiser in hopes of assisting our family members during their time of need as they transition into a “new normal” way of life since a car accident injured Nathan (Nate) Siegel.
While driving home on April 11, 2024, Nate was involved in a single car accident near Miller, Nebraska. Luckily, some of his friends had found him and he was life-flighted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Upon arrival and an initial exam, his wife was informed that Nate had broken his neck and would be paralyzed from the neck down. After surgery the following day, the family was told that he had a “complete spinal injury” and although he may or may not regain any upper body movement, he would never again walk. Since then, Nate has had some difficulty with his lungs due to the trauma that they sustained, and he was placed on a ventilator two days later. As of now, Nate is on the ventilator, has a feeding tube, several fractured ribs and has some sort of bacterial infection that he is fighting with antibiotics. Some good news….he is able to move his shoulders and arms and does have feeling in most of his upper body. He has a very long recovery ahead of him. Once out of the hospital, he will go to a spinal rehabilitation center either in Lincoln, NE or Denver, CO.
Our Nate is the epitome of a kind soul. He has a heart of gold, would do anything to help family and friends and most importantly, he is an amazing husband and father. If you know Nate, you know that he is genuine, caring, a gear head and a just all-around GREAT GUY! Prior to the accident, he worked at BD in Broken Bow, NE and lives in Litchfield, NE with his wife, Terryn and their two children, Kayleigh (7 years old) and Lane (3 years old). Terryn is wanting to spend as much time as she can with Nate, but she does work as a Paraeducator at the school where they live and will be on summer break in one month. There will be expenses for medical bills, travel, and daily living expenses that they will need help with. We are respectfully asking for donations to help offset some of these costs so that Nate can concentrate on his recovery and his family may be able to be by his side. If you are unable to donate, we simply ask for prayers and good vibes to be sent his way! We are optimistic and realistic about his prognosis, but we also believe that miracles can and do happen every day! Thank you in advance for your donations, prayers, good vibes, visits, and calls to the family. The support shown to his family is inspiring and will help Nate and his family to get them through this difficult time together!
