Nathaniel Orion's Journey
Donation protected
Eli and Veronica Castaneda are the proud parents of Nathaniel Orian Castaneda was born with SCIDS on February 26, 2019.
SCID is a group of very rare, life-threatening diseases that are present at birth. The disease causes the child to have very little or no immune system. ... This disease process is also known as the "boy in the bubble" syndrome because living in the normal environment can prove fatal to these children.
Your blessings are needed immediately for travel, food and living expenses for the family to be able to visit mom and for dad to trade places and stay at hospital with Nathan while mom spends a few days with other children. Family has no means of income, dad on FMLA, need to move closer to hospital for daily visits when baby is released. We are blessed to have a place to live while in Houston but want to help with the household expenses, groceries etc. Our vehicle has no ac and is not in the condition to be traveling from Austin to Houston but God is Good.
Your help is a blessing and I want to thank you now. God bless you all for helping, it will be returned 10 fold to you by our Mighty God.
Nathaniel Orian Castaneda was born on Feb. 26, 2019 and went home for only a couple of days. He had to return to Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, Tx to live while a matched donor was found. Then on March 26th we were transported to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston Tx for 10 days of chemo, the bone marrow transplant (stem cell).
This is all so life changing because this is not our first or only child. We have 3 other boys ages 16, 9 and 3 who is border line autistic, 2 dogs and 1 cat. We are all at the mercy of God and know that everything will work out for the good.
My husband the only one working has had to take FMLA in order to stay with our sons in Austin while I lived at hospital with our son Nathan. It's been really hard on our 3 year old Nolan because he still needs mom and mom needs him too.
It's a financial burden that we were not expecting, having to shut down our home in Leander, Tx and relocate to Rosenberg, Tx with paternal family in order to be close to hospital so I can unite with my husband and sons for an hour or so during the week.
Days are long when you long for your son to get well, seeing his pain caressing his cries and wiping the tears away knowing this too shall pass.
My faith in God is the only thing that keeps me going, along with the prayers of reassurance from my closest family and friends.
GOD BLESS
