Nathaniel W. Fight Against S.A.A.
Donation protected
On April 21, 2017, my sister took her 9 yr old son Nathaniel to the hospital because he could not walk and had limited movement in his left hand. At first, we thought he had a mini stroke, but the next thing we knew he was getting flown to Seattle Children's Hospital because he had very low blood levels. He was immediately given platelets and a blood transfusion and was getting his blood drawn multiple times for testing. A few days later we got the sad news that Nathaniel has a rare blood disease called S.A.A. - Severe Aplastic Anemia which means Nathaniel's bone marrow is not making enough red blood cells, white blood cells or platelets. My sister had her son Elijah tested for a possibility of being a bone marrow match...unfortunately he was not and our family was devastated.
Nathaniel has not been to school since the week after spring break. He misses his teachers and friends at Chief Kamiakin Elementary in Sunnyside, WA. Nathaniel loved to run and play outside, ride bikes and especially loved to play sports. He played football for Sunnyside Grid Kids, wrestled for Sunnyside Grapplers and played baseball for Sunnyside Cal Ripken Minors 3.
On May 11, 2017 Nathaniel was admitted to Seattle Children's Hospital to begin Immunosuppressive Therapy with Chemotherapy. Nathaniel's immune system will be compromised and can not be around many people. He will be staying in the Seattle area close to the hospital so he can receive his transfusions and monitor his medications and blood counts.
Anyone who knows Isabel and Steven, know that they have a huge heart and they would help anyone at anytime of day and have both taken time off work to be with Nathaniel during this difficult time. At this time, they are in need of your help, not only spiritually with your prayers but also financially to help out with Nathaniel's medical bills.
Thank you for all your prayers and support and anything would be greatly appreciated.
May God Bless You. God is Great.
