For those that don’t know my story, I’ll keep it short. I’m born and raised in Grand Blanc, MI. Due to missing my left tibia bone at birth, I have been an amputee since the age of one. Because my parents blessed me with making the decision so early on, I don’t know my life to be much different, and that has played the largest role in my success as an amputee. Since I could swing plastic clubs, I have been an avid golfer. While growing up differently abled, golf was the one thing I could confidently play. It is a game that I have played with my family and friends; with some of my most favorite rounds even being with my grandparents. (Unfortunately they are no longer earth side).
Growing up in Genesee Country, I played for Flint Junior Golf Association from age 6-18. Once I aged out at 18, I started working for the program, and 12 years later I can still say I assist the director.
I played golf for Grand Blanc High School and from there I ran the Club Golf team at Michigan - UM Flint from 2014-2016.
I coached Grand Blanc High School JV Girls golf from 2017-2021 - after Covid, board members got the positions going forward.
This July I had the opportunity to caddy for Kim Moore at our 2022 Ally Challenge. Kim Moore is our 2022 U.S. Adaptive Open Champion.
Better late than never, I am competing once again. I am competing in hopes of accumulating as many points in the U.S. Adaptive Golf rankings as I can. Spreading light and love on disability and inclusion.
I competed in a Midwest tournament last August in Illinois and I took 1st for the Womens Division and 1st Overall in my division.
I competed in Orlando last October and won my division and took 7th overall women.
I competed in Port Saint Lucie this May, taking 1st in my Division and 2nd Overall Women.
I just competed in my first ever U. S. Adaptive Open last week in Pinehurst, NC. I won something on that 18th green that no one else won, a Fiance'!!
If nothing else, this was a place to keep everyone in the loop as to where their money went and how I have done. I have been blessed with an amazing community that has supported me since I was a little girl on the playground at Holy Family School. Over the years, between opening my yoga studio and choosing my sobriety journey, my networking and connections have only grown and I’m so humbled by the support that surrounds me.
Please don’t think this is resurfacing, but rather an update for all of those who so kindly supported me.
If you’ve read this far, thank you
Here’s to being a U.S. Adaptive Golfer. I will do everything in my power to make Grand Blanc proud ♥️
