National Fund To Save the USPS

Donation protected
Dear National Fund to Save the USPS supporters,

This fundraising effort is on hold and I can not get the GoFundMe people to release it. So I am going to instruct GoFundMe to refund all donations and cancelling this fundraiser.

One true purpose of this effort was to raise awareness of the diabolical attempts to destroy a service which has been with us longer than the federal government itself, and one of the few government services that ran without debt, until it was required to forward fund pensions into the future to 2056 (see https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2018-04-04/congress-not-amazon-messed-up-the-u-s-postal-service).

That's is right, for PO workers not even born yet.

I am sorry and disappointed that this fundraising effort failed and all your support will have to be returned, but I ask you to raise hell with the current trajectory of our "leaders" and find other ways to provide what is needed so the USPS will not be murdered by 45 and his henchmen.

Thank you all and good luck.

The Post Office is a vital link between us and the world.

Our federal government relies on the USPS but unfairly ended its tax based funding in 1970 and crippled it by forcing it to fund pensions for 75 years into the future.... for employees who have not yet been born!

We NEED a secure and reliable mail service that has congressional oversight to protect the American people. We have the oversight, but we need to keep it alive— in addition (I did the math) we would need every household to either donate or be taxed approximately $90 per year to keep it afloat

From MSN News
"The Postal Service’s decades-long financial troubles have worsened dramatically as the volume of the kind of mail that pays the bills at that agency ― first-class and marketing mail ― withers during the pandemic. The USPS needs an infusion of money, and the federal government has blocked potential emergency funding for the agency that employs around 600,000 workers, repeating instead the false claim that higher rates for Internet shipping companies Amazon, FedEx and UPS would right the service’s budget....."

Saving our Postal Service is a big win for all of us.
