National Die-In Washington DC

Almost two years ago, on June 12th, 2016, a gunman shot  and killed 49 people in the Pulse Nightclub Massacre. To this day it remains the deadliest act of violence against the LGBTQ+ community to ever take place in the US and the second deadliest mass shooting in America. Despite the cries heard around the nation after this horrific tragedy, lawmakers did nothing to prevent future gun violence. Since that tragic day in Orlando, elected officials have allowed approximately 700 more lives to be lost to mass shootings in the United States.

The Foundation of the National Die-In's were created and developed by the founders Amanda Fugleberg, Frank Kravchuk, and Nurah Abdulhaqq. Amanda and Frank as fellow Orlando natives first reached out to one another because they both had likeminded ideas to honor the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, FL. The momentum started to pick up for this demonstration/organization. We then met Nurah Abdulhaqq who helped propel this organization and to give it an official name; National Die-In Day. The Die-In's are the next step of action because politicians have been silent and we will finally hold them accountable. These  Die-In's will show legislators the youth will not stand back and let them allow us to be murdered for the sake of money.”

With the foundation of National Die-In day. This organization was founded on honoring the 49 victims of Pulse as well as hundreds of countless lives lost to gun violence in this country each year. We are funding a large event that is taking place at the capitol in Washington D.C. on June 12, 2018; the second anniversary of Pulse. This organization cannot function without you, so We need YOUR help! We would appreciate it if you would donate! The funds will go to the event space, transportation, equipment, sponsors, student speakers, and other logistics for this large scale event.

Amanda Fugleberg, one of the founders of National Die-In Day, is the beneficiary of the funds in order to reimburse everybody involved (sound, stage, ASL interpreters, speakers who flew out to the event).
