Community,
On Saturday, November 26, 2022, Natiq Jalil passed on and joined his ancestors. An incredible artist, loyal husband and father, devoted son and brother, Natiq will be missed by many who knew him and his craft. His legacy will live on through his many works of art, fond memories, and the tangible reach he had on the community.
He was loved and will be mourned by his wife, children, family, and art collective, The Coloured Section. As his loved ones reflect on their memories and process their grief, they ask that everyone please respect their privacy. Formal announcements surrounding all arrangements are posted below.
In life, Natiq loved uplifting others, creating spaces to cultivate not only his talents but that of our Black youth, and creating unique and original exhibits with his loving wife. His family asks that you help us lift up his name, and his plans for the future, by contributing to the memorial fundraiser to benefit his wife and daughter in the amount of $40,000.
Friends and colleagues are raising funds for his burial arrangements, wake, end-of-life costs, and providing additional financial support to his family in this difficult time. We believe it is imperative that we support his family and hold space for his art collective during this time.
We ask the greater Pittsburgh community to show up in love and honor his legacy by providing for his family and affirming his momentous reach and impact on our city.
For those that cannot contribute via GoFundMe, funds can be sent to these alternatives:
Checks can be made out to Crystal Noel with "For Natiq" in the memo and mailed to:
