Native Woodland Tree Planting Project
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Anneke. My husband and I want to raise £2130 to plant a native woodland on our land in Somerset, UK.
We’re Planting Trees to Fight Climate Change
It has been reported that ‘tree planting has mind-blowing potential to tackle climate crisis’, by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. We want to rewild an area of our land to do what we can to help fight climate change - by turning arable pasture into a wilderness woodland.
With your help we will raise £2130 to remove over 800 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere through tree planting!
While trees sequester carbon, they have also provide many other ecosystem services, from flood prevention and soil protection to habitat creation for birds, insects and other at-risk wildlife in the UK. So our native woodland tree planting project will serve nature on many levels.
We have received a partial grant for our tree planting project, but we need to fundraise the remaining £2130 to make planting this woodland possible. The entire £2130 we fundraise will go to planting 800 native trees on our land. Each tree will cost £2.66 to plant.
In addition to the trees, we will plant native 200 shrubs, to increase the biodiversity of the land, to absorb more carbon, and to create a diverse range of wildlife habitats.
Offset Your Carbon
According to the Global Carbon Atlas, the average person in the UK emits 5.8 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, while a single tree will absorb 1 tonne of carbon dioxide in its lifetime. That means if you donate £16 to plant 6 trees, you will have offset your carbon for an entire year!
Donation Ideas
Donate £2.66 to plant one tree.
Donate £16 to offset your carbon for one year.
Donate £32 to offset for a two-person household.
We would be very grateful for anything you can give to our tree-planting project. Without your support the project will not be possible and will not go ahead.
Even the smallest donation will get us one step closer to our dream of planting a native woodland. 100% of every donation we receive will go directly to tree planting.
We all need to be planting as many trees as we possibly can to fight climate change! Thank you so much for doing what you can for the environment by donating to our family tree planting project.
