Navarro-Pagdilao’s Lost Home in Lahaina Wildfires
Donation protected
Aloha mai kākou,
On August 8, 2023, a terrible combination of drought conditions and hurricane winds led to a widespread of wildfires across the island of Maui, especially in Lāhainā. My sister Charlyn Navarro, and her fiancé Richie Pagdilao is a native and grew up in Lāhainā, and have had the privilege of raising their five children: Destiny, Kyrah, Skyler, Mckenzy, and Zoey.
As the fires grew larger and closer to their home, her family had to evacuate their home on short notice. They had to leave all of their treasured family belongings and rushed out into a haze of smoke and chaos. They eventually made it to central Maui to reconnect with family on this side of the island. Unfortunately, they soon found that the home they built for their family burned to the ground. And sadly Richie lost his dad during the evacuation and he did not make it.
We humbly ask for any assistance that you could provide to my sister and her family during this difficult time. The funds raised will be used for basic necessities and to rebuild their home for their five children. If you would like to provide support, please consider donating through this GoFundMe page.
Again, we deeply appreciate any support you could extend as they piece back together what the fires took from my sister and her family.
Mahalo for your compassion and kindness❤️
