Medical Insurance Deductible & Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brian and I guess this is sadly what healthcare has come to in the US. I am on long-term disability insurance and I currently have health insurance through the ACA, but I am raising money to meet my $3,800 medical insurance deductible for 2023. I have several thousand dollars of previous medical debt which I am trying to slowly repay. I cannot afford any more debt or monthly payments added to that at this time.
I recently had my first evaluation at the Pain Clinic where I was referred by my orthopedic surgeon. I need a nerve block injection into my lower lumbar vertebrae. If that is successful, they will want to do another and then nerve cauterization. Each one of those nerve blocks will be an estimated $750-850 each out-of-pocket expense for me. Unfortunately, pain medications do not work for me as I have a spinal cord injury following three spinal/disc surgeries in 2010 . I also have a lot of arthritis and scar tissue in my back. I suffer from frequent headaches and neuropathy as a result of the spinal cord damage. Additionally, I have developed plantar fasciitis in my feet and a heel spur.
If I happen to raise more money than I am needing for my deductible, I will pay it towards my previous debt payments or future medical needs as this is a temporary treatment.
Thank you for your consideration. God bless you.
