Let’s give Mick an his girls the best Christmas

Hi Everyone,

I am fundraising for Michael an his girls to make sure they have the best Christmas ever.

Michael was diagnosed on Christmas Eve 2020 with stage 4 bowel cancer with segment 5 liver mets and indeterminate right upper lobe lung nodule. He had to have a stoma bag fitted before starting 6 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy with FOLFOX. He had a scan after that which showed no change in liver and a reduction in largest lung module, and a slight reduction in primary tumour so he was then moved onto radiotherapy. After 6 weeks of that which finished on the 23rd June 2021. He had to wait until September to have a scan to see what the results were after radiotherapy, the results weren’t too good there was a slight reduction again in the primary tumour but his liver and lung went bigger. He then received 6 cycles of FOLFIRI chemotherapy in the hope that it was going to shrink, because they told him if they go bigger then they will stop treatment. Then in in February 2022 Michael was given the news nobody wants to hear, he was advised they don’t think he will longer than two years.

Even with this information Michael still had the fight in him to do and try anything in order to try and get more years with his beautiful girls, his partner Lyndsey and his two beautiful daughters Libby (8) and Phoebe (6). We found a private clinic in Germany who advised they could offer treatment but estimated it would cost around £46,000 and even with all the amazing fundraising done by family and friends we couldn’t get no where near to this target.

But with the fundraising Micheal did have 6 cycles of Avastin and 5 blasts of radiotherapy on the bowel and does have another appointment with his oncologist on 20 September to go over the next steps. But Micheal hasn’t been to well lately and the fundraising funds are now low. 

Micheal is a great dad and doesn’t deserve to have to worry about his health, along with cost of any other treatments that he may need to prolong his time with his family and as everyone knows Christmas can be a though time never mind with all these added stress. So we would love to take the added stress of this off him and his family and give them all the best Christmas ever.
