Shellys fight against stage 4 breast cancer
This message was sent directly from Shelly.
“In 2015 I beat stage 4 Ductal Carcinoma, Breast Cancer but 2020 has been a really rough year.
As I became sicker, begging for help, not qualifying for Covid tests because I knew I had accidentally inhaled a beverage that caused aspiration pneumonia in March. Finally, in early July, my Dr got creative and was able to get me in and start antibiotics and steroids.
But I kept getting worse...
Repeat antibiotics and steroids a few times, multiple ER visits for secondary issues caused from being so sick and a recheck with my primary care Dr and she sent me to be admitted into the hospital early October.
Aggressive Stage 4 Metastatic Ductal Carcinoma....basically traveling Breast Cancer in lymph nodes, lungs, even some bone.
Within 2 weeks of diagnosis I began Chemo.
Thank goodness for FMLA so my fiancee Scott is able to help me to appointments and not lose his job for having to take off work, but when he can't work there is no income either. Already the struggle with which bill to pay has begun. I fully intend to beat this again as it's a bump in the road life throws at us. Any help at all is greatly appreciated as I'm beginning to worry how to make ends meet, that I really can't afford this business of being sick right now.“
