Hi my name is Xavier Arroyo, I’m 15 yrs old and a sophomore in high school. I’ve grown up in Little Village and I have recently been offered an opportunity to travel to Costa Rica to play baseball in a tournament with Mexico’s little league. As a proud Mexican, this is a huge opportunity for my family and I. Baseball has always been an outlet for me and along with my mother’s guidance it has helped mold me into the young man I am today. I’ve learned to always stay humble and Ive been taught that all your hard work speaks for you…I work just as hard in school as I do on the field and being able to go to Costa Rica and play for a team that represents my roots and culture would be an amazing opportunity and accomplishment, and it would allow me to gain more exposure in the baseball world. This trip would honestly be a dream come true. I know that an opportunity like this may be a challenge to commit to for someone my age, but I promise I will continue to play with all my heart. Raising this money would greatly help realize my dream and help pay for this amazing opportunity to go to Costa Rica and proudly represent my country, my family, and my Little Village community with Mexico’s little league.
