Nicole DeRyder Breast Cancer Fight
Donation protected
On July 14, 2015, Nicole received a life changing phone call, she, like her mother and cousin, has breast cancer. Nicole knew she was at higher risk for this, because she is positive for the BRCA1 gene, like many others in her family, but she never expected it to happen at such a young age. Nicole is only 25 years old.
Nicole has been a pillar of strength and support for her family, as well as others fighting this battle. Within days of her mother’s diagnosis she had Team Kris/Team Lisa bracelets ordered which she then sold to raise money to help fund their medical bills. She also put together a team of walkers to help raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event. She has sacrificed her income in order to attend her mother’s doctor appointments, chemo treatments and surgeries.
Nicole has been relentless in her support for the cause. Now it is our turn to give back to her. Due to Nicole’s young age and having to go through chemotherapy, it is possible she could end up unable to have children naturally. Because of this she will be going through infertility treatment prior to beginning her chemotherapy. Unfortunately infertility treatment is not a benefit of her insurance plan. Funds raised through this account will go toward the cost of this treatment, as well as the insurance deductibles and copays for her cancer treatment.
Thank you for your support.
