Shelter Seeks Justice for Faith

Donation protected
No one knows what Faith went through.  No one knows the pain and suffering she endured or why.  What we do know is that the guilty individual who did this heartless crime is still out there wandering the streets...with your neighbors, your family and your loved ones.  That is what Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter is trying to determine.

Foster Christina didn't expect her New Year to start off like this.  Christina received a phone call from a colleague that a stray cat with wire wrapped around its neck was wandering the streets of Hanover, PA.  She immediately went to rescue the cat.

Upon finding this girl, later dubbed Faith, Christina was shocked to find that the poor calico had several head wounds and wire wrapped tightly around her neck.  She immediately took Faith to Penn Township Fire Department who assisted in cutting the wire from around her neck.  From there, she was taken to Paws Animal Hospital where she was given antibiotics and sent home with Christina.

Once home, her condition only deteriorated.  She began pacing in circles and walking through her food and water dishes.  The next day Christina took Faith back to Paws Animal Hospital where the extent of Faith's brain injuries were determined.  Faith, unfortunately,  suffered injuries too profound to heal and these injuries were intentionally inflicted by humans.  Christina spent her New Year's Eve making the unthinkable decision...and Faith was laid to rest.  Faith was in a place where she was no longer in pain,  and fortunately during her last moments she felt warmth, love, and peace.

Later a necropsy (animal autopsy) was performed at York County SPCA which indicated that Faith suffered several skull fractures and cracks caused by repeated blunt force trauma.  The SPCA veterinarian who performed the necropsy believes Faith was held stationary/hung with the wire while being struck by a hammer, or something of the sort.

Heavenly Paws volunteers want to bring justice to the individual who committed this heinous crime.  We are raising $250 to offer as a cash reward to anyone who can give us any information leading to the arrest of the party/parties involved in the death of Faith.  Anything raised beyond the $250 will go towards current/future cruelty/abuse cases.  If no arrests are able to be made, all funds will go towards helping other cruelty animal cases like Faith's.  Together we will be heard, and together we will be the voice for Faith.

Anyone with information about who owned Faith or who is responsible for her death is urged to call Humane Society Police Officer Nicole Lawrence at (717) [phone redacted], ext. 127, and leave a message.

Heavenly Paws is a non-profit, all-volunteer, no-kill feline shelter that rescues 400-600 cats per year.  To learn more about Heavenly Paws and how you can help please visit https://heavenlypaws.wordpress.com/
