Derek and Shannon fire relief fund
On the return trip to Ohio from the first NDRL race of the season, Derek McCuiston suffered one of the fears that all racers have. As he and Shannon were entering Indiana, the trailer erupted into flames and was immedietely ablaze.
They were not injured in any way and very fortunate to get the truck unhooked from the trailer but the entire racing operation that was inside the trailer was lost. It is believed, at this time, that the golf cart caught on fire which spread into the the rest of the trailer taking Dereks beautiful dragster with it.
We, as a orginization, have always taken pride in the family atmosphere that we carry from race to race and its with that I ask for your help in possibly getting this family member back up and moving. This site is asking me to put a goal and that was hard to do. The only goal here is to make sure they get some help whether its to cover lost time at work and fuel to travel back to Indiana to gather up anything that can be saved or if we knock out a homerun and possbily make a dent in a new start.
Derek would hand you the shirt off of his back if needed...its time for us to do the same.
Any donation will be accepted and placed into the NDRL account and then we will cut a check to Derek when the drive is closed.
Thank you.
