Peytons Medical Expenses

This benefit is for Peyton DeLoe, son of Dan and Nikki.

His sickness started with a fever and vomiting. He was then unable to eat or keep fluids down for two days. He was taken to the ER on Thursday May 18th at 8 am where they ran a blood panel, blood cultures, a urinary analysis, a CT scan, and a full body X-ray. His levels showed extremely elevated white blood cell counts which equates to an infection somewhere. The urine was cloudy so they did a lumbar puncture to test for meningitis. The lumbar puncture and blood cultures were both positive for streptococcal pneumonia and bacterial meningitis. His CT scan also showed a mass in his left nostril that needs a children’s ENT specialist to evaluate to make sure it can be removed safely and that it is not causing any damage. Dan and Nikki needed to take him to children’s hospital upon discharge for that evaluation. The CT scan showed fluid around Peytons brain which lead to the meningitis diagnosis which they believed was caused from an ear infection and was causing the neurological symptoms like shaking (still unclear if it was seizures or fever chills) and the inability to focus his eyesight and the confusion. He is currently on two iv antibiotics and Tylenol every four hours for pain. He currently had his iv site changed due to swelling and stiffness and pain .The meningitis is causing severe muscle pains and stiffness and they need to make sure his neurological symptoms disappear and not worsen.

Dan and Nikki will have many expenses including medical bills, transportation back and forth, and still providing care to their other two children Dawson and Kennedy. They never ask for help but they will need it during this trying time, and any little bit can help them. Thank you!
