Help Support Mike Blakely

Mike Blakely needs your help. He is fighting for his reputation and his life. He is currently Seventy years old and has been Sheriff for Thirty-Eight years. He spent his entire adult life protecting and serving our community. You know his record and you know the type of man he is. He was ready to retire and had all his bill paid off when the State Attorney General decided to go after him and destroy his legacy of public service.

So far he has spent over one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) on his legal defense. He now has to appeal the conviction and the cost of that is expected to be double what the initial trial defense cost. Also since he was convicted the state has removed him from office and taken his pension. He no longer has a job, a truck or a cell phone. To make matters worse the state seems to think that a man with no job, no pension, and no vehicle is a flight risk so they are refusing him a bond and he is sitting in jail.

He still believes in the justice system and still thinks that it will all be ok, maybe due to his love of Roy Rogers and John Wayne, but the reality of it is that the only thing he has left is his good name, the memories you all have of him and his farm. He would probably not want you to know just how desperate his situation is, but he needs your help. If you can help him to fight the limitless coffers of the State I know he would greatly appreciate it and even if you don't please at least sign the Mike Blakely petition. Any proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards his legal defense and maintenance of his farm since that is the only thing he has left to leave his grandchildren.
