Neath Little Theatre needs your help!

Donation protected
Neath Little Theatre opened its doors for the very first time in 1935 and will be celebrating its 90th birthday next year but in order to reach this milestone we desperately need your help!

The results of a recent building survey indicate that the theatre has to temporarily close its doors in order to carry out substantial building work estimated in excess of £200,000.

We are an amateur theatre run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers. For the last 90 years our aim has been to foster a sense of community, a love for the arts and to bring drama and learning opportunities to the people of Neath and surrounding areas. We have built up a very loyal and supportive patronage and audience over the years, and an extensive, thriving youth and adult membership. We are proud of our theatre and all that we stand for but now we are asking for your help and support to reach our goal and re-open our doors to continue providing the community with quality theatre for the next 90 years. Losing this ‘jewel’, this unique facility will be a massive loss to the local community of Neath and the surrounding area. Please help us to ensure our theatre survives this crisis and will be there to be enjoyed by future generations.

About Us
Neath Little Theatre was established in 1935 (the current building was opened in 1955) and it still aims to provide quality drama and learning opportunities to the people of Neath and surrounding areas. We are proud of our reputation for good quality grassroots theatre and have picked up many awards over the years. We have built up a loyal and supportive audience, many of whom come to see every show. We present three 'Major' 2 and 3 -act plays a season (in October, March and May) and, of course, there is the highly anticipated annual Christmas production. We hold regular weekly club nights on Thursday evenings designed to be learning experiences for our members and the wider community. We have a thriving Youth section and hold monthly workshops for children aged between 5 - 11 years and another for older members aged 11 - 18 years.

We welcome visiting companies to perform at the theatre, host acoustic music events, occasional comedy nights and social evenings. In addition, we endeavour to accommodate various community groups and we support selected local charities.

NLT is a family. We thrive on bringing people together for the love of theatre and the arts. We do not want to cease providing our community with this unique opportunity. NLT is a place where our audiences experience a combination of entertainment, cultural enrichment, social interaction and emotional connection. The unique qualities of live theatre make it a compelling and rewarding experience for many individuals. Please help us keep our theatre alive!
