Neat's Story - Medical Care Fundraiser for Anita McKee

Dear family, friends & neighbours,

We are reaching out to you today on behalf of our dear sister Anita.

After enduring many years of serious health issues and illnesses, Anita is now being faced with a life altering surgery.

Diabetes complications, vascular disease and ongoing health issues including sepsis, have caused extensive tissue damage, resulting in the need to surgically amputate her lower left limb, in order to stop the spread of infection and save her life.

Anyone who knows Anita, or “Neat” as she is affectionately known, knows she is a kind, caring & compassionate woman, with a great sense of humour and a heart of gold, and thankfully very strong willed! Although struggling with the idea of coming to terms with it all, she is dealing with the situation like a champ. However, she will have a physically and emotionally draining road to recovery, ahead of her and with that comes the financial burden and stress of the unexpected medical costs. We are hoping to raise funds to be able to ease some of that stress, by relieving some of the expenses; allowing her to focus on her recovery!

Donations will go towards covering the cost of monthly bills/ appointments/travelling / parking / rehab / care, and any medical equipment that may be required.

Starting a GoFundMe account is a decision that we initially struggled with, due to her concerns about perception and pride, but a GoFundMe Page should not be viewed as a source of discomfort, but rather, an opportunity for friends and family and the community to help support someone in their time of need. The fact of the matter is, we all could use a-little help from time to time, and this is her time, and she is so deserving!
