Necrosis Jaw Surgery

Hi, my name is Denise Lackey & I am starting this fundraiser for Michael Hendrix.

Michael was diagnosed in April of 2018 having tonsil cancer on his left side. We got into to have a consultation with Dr. Ducic in Ft Worth & Dr. Ducic told Michael that he needed to have his teeth pulled on his left side due to the extensive radiation therapy. Michael had his upper & lower teeth pulled by a Dentist in Granbury in July 2018. The Dentist did a horrible job on pulling Michael's teeth & that Dentist is no longer in business. Michael started radiation therapy in August 2018 & had therapy 5 days a week for 6.5 weeks. Forward to now, Michael has been in excruciating pain with his jaw, he saw an oral surgeon Dr. Bowles here in Cleburne, had scans & Michael has Necrosis of his left jaw, Necrosis means the jaw bone is dying. Dr. Bowles explained to Michael that his radiation therapy was done too early & his surgery he had to remove his teeth didn't have time to heal before starting his radiation treatments & because of that he has Necrosis & Michael is needing to have jaw surgery to remove the dead bone in his jaw & replace the dead bone with a bone from his leg. Before having surgery Michael has to have 30 treatments of HBO (Hyperbaric Chamber Oxygen Treatment) & have surgery & then he has to have 10 more HBO treatments after having surgery. Surgery & HBO treatments will cost around $15,000. Unfortunately Michael is not offered insurance through his job & he is unable to get any kind of insurance until open enrollment (November-December) & then that doesn't go into effect until January 2024, he can't wait that long!
