PLEASE HELP Me Cover My Dogs ER Visit :(

Hi, my name is Jenn, and my sweet dog Porter was involved in a series of misfortunate events that led to her being stuck by a motorbike, which broke her right femur bone (her leg.) My husband, Chris, rushed her to the nearest veterinarian and she confirmed that Porter had a broken leg. We were then sent to an emergency veterinary clinic so that they could stabilize her and assess her injuries further. She was on oxygen for over 12 hours to help with her breathing, they did blood work and X-Rays on her entire body.

Thankfully, her ribs only showed bruising. She was in excruciating pain and has been on pain meds since arriving at the emergency veterinary clinic. After she was stable and her injuries were assessed, we were then tasked with finding a surgeon. This was trickier than we realized as ideally, she needed the surgery within a couple of days so that she could start her recovery. Many veterinarian surgeons were already booked, but we finally found a great surgeon at Pet First in New Port Richey. Her surgery was February 2, 2023 at 9 AM and was, fortunately - a success! All of this comes just one week before her 10th birthday which was originally scheduled to be a beach day :/

Porter has been my best sidekick for the last 10 years. Even going to work with me, for 5 of those years. She’s my little athlete. She loves running and swimming.

I’ve started this GoFundMe because my husband and I could really use some help covering the bills that tallied up to $7900. This isn’t something you ever imagine is going to happen to you, and the expenses from the first vet, ER, and then the surgery is really a heavy burden on us. Whatever you can do to help is greatly appreciated.
